About School


Anula Vidyalaya, Colombo is a Buddhist girls' school in Sri Lanka, established in 1941 by Dr. E. W. Adikaram with 38 students and five teachers. Currently, the school has a student body of over 5,000 girls. The Principal and the staff guide the pupils on the Buddhist principles of non-violence and self-discipline.

Uniform

About the Uniform


1. The hair must be combed to have only to pleats.


2. The hair has been tied only with a black ribbon. The black ribbon which is 1 yard long, 1’ wide should be cut in to two.


3. The uniform must be long enough to cover the knee level. The belt should be as shown in the format and it should be least high than the lap.


4. The front opening should not exceed 6 inches.

5. The house logo/prefect logo should be worn closer to left hand side collar.

6. It is compulsory to wear a white underskirt and it should be of height up to the upper stitch of the uniform.

7. Should not wear fashionable ornaments. (Rings, Necklaces, Coloured earings, etc.) Should not wear any kind of pins.

8. Wrist watch belts must be black/brown.

9. Ankle boots which are white should be worn; shoes should be always kept clean.

10. Nails should not be unnecessary long, coloring and removing eyebrows are totally prohibited for the uniform.
